I try to buy clothes for my kids the previous year--when they are on super clearance. But shoes, those are a different story. You just don't know what size your kids will be in a year, let alone next month. Does anyone elses kids feet seem to have super growth spurts? I've been to more than half of the states in the country--everone should get out for a good road trip to see how blessed we are here. I haven't been to any of the south eastern states or to Texas. So when I was appraoched to talk about SAVE for San Antonio I was excited to plan out a vacation I would actually want to take.
Now the problem with heading to a destination I've never been to or don't know anyone who lives there is that I would probably pick a hotel and stay close around it. But SAVE is like havine a great friend in the area to tell you about the awesome attractions, great restaurants, and the best deals.
SAVE also known as San Antonio Vacation Experience website can help you plan your vacation and save lots of money all at the same time.
So if I were to plan my vacation today this is what I would do:
First, remember I have three kiddos now and one is only 2.5 months--so this will be a very family friendly itenerary.
From8/18-8/25 It's restaurant week in San Antonio--One of San Antonio’s greatest attractions is its culinary scene, and August delivers a celebration of the city’s most exciting and diverse restaurants with Culinaria: Restaurant Week. Participating establishments are cooking up something incredibly delicious, offering delectable fare with specially priced menus. Yum--food is always one of our favorite things to experience when we are on vacation
Kids get bored if we have to sit a lot so the zoo would be a great place to go. Experience the plants and animals of Africa and go on Safari—all in San Antonio! The San Antonio Zoo’s exhibit Africa Live! has exotic exhibits and even an African street market. SAVE discount is $2 off admission.
Brimming with adventure, San Antonio is home to theme parks SeaWorld San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Morgan’s Wonderland.
Because we live in a land locked city--with a huge mountain range between us and the ocean visiting SeaWorld would be a must on our list. This season, SeaWorld is debuting “Aquatica,” an 18-acre aquatic park with up-close animal experiences, high-speed thrills and relaxing, sandy beaches. SAVE discounts include deals on family-four packs, second day free, $10 off admission and more.
Since I believe it is important to learn about history wherever you go we would head to the Now Open - South Texas Heritage Center This new center at the Witte Museum, tells the stories of 1850s in South Texas through interactive exhibits, art, artifacts and live performances.
Now, all these attractions are great, but if we don't have a great hotel to stay in the trip will only be remembered because of kicking and screaming from too tired kids. SAVE has partnered up with sevearl Hotels to fit everyones needs.
Check out the limited time offer at the Hilton
Or a SAVE rate at the Holiday Inn Express Rivercenter at only $89 a night.
There are so many attractions, theme parks, animal adventures, historic tours, plus much more through SAVE that San Antonio sounds like a great place to have an adventure.
